Projects in Progress

The Railway Station at Perpignan - the December page on our Salvador Dali calendar, which has me entranced at the moment.December already?! I can tell that the end of the year is going to be here before I even get the chance to catch my breath.
I spent part of my long weekend sick, so I didn’t get quite as much accomplished as I was hoping to, but I’ve still been a pretty busy polymath. It’s late, so I’m not going to go into too much detail here, but here are some of the projects I’ve got going that you’ll hear more about soon:
  • I started infusing two different flavored vinegars for holiday gifts – Scarborough Fair (parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme, of course!) and Pesto (basil and garlic).
  • I placed my second Ponoko order, using their new Prime service – I got in on their offer of the first month of Prime for free to the first 100 to sign up, with a discounted rate locked in as long as I keep Prime active. This offer has some repeats and revisions on items from my last order, plus one custom order piece, a couple of prototypes for some new ideas I had, and my first attempt at a 3-D piece through them.
  • I also put together a photography light tent for about $15 to use when taking product photos. I had tried cutting an opening in a white 5 gallon bucket that we had sitting around, but the plastic was still too opaque, and cutting a large enough hole to make it easy to take photos would have likely made the bucket unstable. PVC to the rescue!
  • I’m pulling together ingredients to make a variation on the alien projector from the most recent issue of MAKE. But more industrial, and probably involving pirates.

(Note to anyone reading this on RSS… the HTML is not coming through in my feed, which means that links and formatting are both getting lost – which makes this pretty hard to read. I’m working on it! In the meantime, you can always click through to the site to read the posts…)
